Police in Macclesfield are appealing for witnesses following an assault near Macclesfield Hospital.

Sometime between 5pm and 6pm on Thursday 11 February a woman was walking from Macclesfield Hospital along Victoria Road or Prestbury Road when she was pushed into the road causing a van to stop to avoid a collision with the woman.

As part of our enquiries, we are trying to trace the van driver.

DS Keith Graham said: "The driver is not in any trouble, we just want to speak with him about the incident as part of our enquiries and I'd urge him to get in touch with me.

"I'd also ask anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage that may help to contact me also."

A 29-year-old man has been arrested as part of the investigation.

Anyone with information should contact Cheshire Police on 101 or via www.cheshire.police.uk quoting IML 915738. Alternatively, information can be given anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
