September: Macclesfield musicians to have released music this month
Every month, we round-up some Macclesfield music tracks that may have flown past your radar.
This week we have a new track from two of Macclesfield's most famous musicians, and a polished piece from a female punk rock band.
And in case you missed last months round-up, why not click here?
Now without further ado, let's get spinning some tunes.
Ben Gorb
First on the list, with the music video ready to watch at the top of this article, is Macclesfield musician Ben Gorb.
The guitar king of rural Macclesfield has released his first new song following his second album Burning Light, released in 2021.
Fly High is a five minute epic, and is sure to put a smile on your face for the weekend.
The video is directed by fellow Macclesfield musician Joel Gardener, and is shot in Macclesfield Forest.

The Other Two
Macclesfield's most famous living musicians are arguably Stephen Morris and Gillian Morris of New Order.
The Rainow residents and Joy Division alumni started a side project in the 1990s called The Other Two.
And while they haven't released an album since 1999, the married couple have scattered remixes in the years gone by.
This month, they remixed a song by a fellow post-punk musician in Manchester artist Lonelady (real name Julie Campbell).
The remix has 2000 streams, and can be listened to here.
Queen Cult
Played on BBC Radio 1 earlier this month, is the new single from Macclesfield band Queen Cult. And you Better Believe It! No, literally, because that's what this song is called. \
Their last single got over 20,000 streams, so hopes are high for this new belter.
Opening with moody synths and drones, and ending with an emphatic rock finish, their new single is punchy and its lyrics are defiant.
Despite quitting their Macclesfield day jobs, the bands songwriters still do good. They headlined a charity music festival in Macclesfield about this time last year.

Cupids Black Arrow
The former frontman of with 90s Macclesfield band Quadraplay has pursued a solo career.
Lee Edwards, under the moniker Cupids Black Arrow, will be releasing a new EP
"I'm delighted to release the first single from my EP," said Lee.
"The new song, like the EP, has a dark and light feel, and lyrically touching on uncomfortable subjects!
"I would like to take this opportunity to mention if any musicians within Macclesfield wish to get together with me to create something new, then please email me [email protected]."
