Plans for six flats across two floors above an empty retail premises in Macclesfield has been submitted.

The former Vibe Clothing building on 42 Mill Street SK11 6LT has been long-vacant, and the ground floor may still be despite being sold for £368,000 at auction.

But the first and second floor have plans for accommodation, according to the Cheshire East Council planning website.

The proposal states a "Conversion of first and second floors of existing buildings to form six no. apartments and associated alterations."

Mr C Lambie of Middle Park Projects Limited with Rob Duncan Planning Consultancy are behind the plans.

Each apartment will have their own kitchen and living room, for which you can read more about here.

The roof of the building will be changed. If approved, it could follow a similar pattern to Macclesfield's Marks and Spencer building across the road, which could be a mix of retail and private living quarters.

The last date for submitting comments is December 6, with a decision earmarked for January 4. Read more on the Cheshire East Council website.
