What's on in Macclesfield is brought to you by our sponsors All Things Nice MacclesfieldPainters Supply Limited, and Wincle Brewing Co

Each midweek, Macc Nub looks ahead to forthcoming happenings in the Macclesfield area. And we've got some seven super things to do this weekend.

Some of these events are taken from our Macclesfield What's On page, where you can promote your events in the town for FREE.

Now without further ado, let's get started...

Macoustic

On this Saturday!

It is live music on Roe Street this Saturday, as the people who bring Party in the Pews Festival to Macclesfield are hosting a one-day music event.

Macoustic Music will take place this Saturday at Cinemac Live on Roe Street, from 2pm.

Macclesfield Nub News are giving away two FREE TICKETS to the event, simply like this post on Facebook by 5pm on Friday to enter.

Alternatively, you can pay for tickets HERE.

Lantern Parade

Lunar New Year is being celebrated in Macclesfield town centre on Saturday.

Please see the above image for more information.

The free-to-attend event is brought to you by Macclesfield Town Council.

And some buses will be free, to help you access and enjoy the festivities!

Jordangate Performance

Live performance at Macclesfield Library.

This Saturday, a hilarious new show will be performed at Macclesfield Library.

History Wardrobe presents: Monday is Wash Day, which features pinnies, possers, and washtubs galore.

The synopsis reads: "As the Two Lucys plunge into the suds and stains of historical laundry and discover how to get your toga, petticoats, or collars whiter-than-white!"

Advanced booking required. Tickets available in person at the Library or call (01625) 374000 for more information.

Duke Street

Build a cosy nesting box with Macc Repair Cafe.

Macc Repair Cafe is on every month, and February's turn is this weekend.

Join them on Saturday for their usual repairs, plus a birdbox building workshop and encourage wild birds to nest near you.

You'll be led in a small group by Repair Cafe specialists to construct your own cosy nesting box and receive advice on the most suitable locations for hanging it.

Choose between registering for a morning or an afternoon workshop.

£5.00 All materials and equipment are included in the fee. One ticket = 1 nesting box kit.

Tea, coffee and cake will be available. An hour long event, with sustainable wood, please wear clothes you won't mind getting sawdust on.

Tap here to register.

Literary Wares

On at Christ Church, Bridge Street, SK11 6EG.

The Books & Brews - 2 Day Book Sale is on in Macclesfield this weekend.

Four hours each day, find the right book for you and support the future of Christ Church whilst doing it.

More info HERE.

Diversity Goal

LGBTQIA+ FOOTBALL

A new LGBTQ+ friendly footie club has a soft launch this weekend.

The foundation of the Macclesfield based organisation is in light of recent events in the football community, where an MTF/ABMAB person felt they needed to quit from the girls football team due to her powerful shot on goal breaking an opposing players leg! Which led to the other teams refusing to play against said player!

This Sunday's event is led by a Level 1 Football Coach (ex Man City Youth Player) and Macclesfield Pride, in the hopes to start an LGBTQ+ football team/community.

If you wish to attend the kickaround, please contact Macclesfield Pride for further details.

And Finally...

Despite the roadworks, The Vale Inn in Bollington is still open!

It is the return of SciBar in Bollington.

SciBar is literally science in a bar. This is a free talk at the Vale Inn, all welcome. No charge. Begins 6.30pm. Q&A session after the talk.

This seminar is led by Peak Cluster.

They are a new innovative collaboration to capture, transport and permanently store carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from industries across Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Cheshire.

And that was it Macclesfield! Did we miss any events?
