A new face is helping to transform homes in Macclesfield and beyond.

Louis Storey is embarking on an exciting new career journey as an apprentice joiner with GEC Home.

It is part of the Macclesfield-based home improvement specialists ongoing commitment to strengthening their workforce with enthusiastic professionals.

Under the mentorship of install manager David Dean, Louis will gain invaluable install experience across the company's full range of products.

Alongside working full-time at various customer sites, Louis will attend Macclesfield College where he will be immersed in theory and practical sessions as he works towards his Level 2 Diploma in joinery.

Director Scott Hulme said: "We believe Louis will be a valuable addition to our install team and we are committed to providing him with the support and guidance he needs to succeed.

"We look forward to watching Louis grow and develop into a skilled and successful professional."

GEC Home was launched in 2023 by Scott and head of finance, Tom Livesley.

They now boast a 200-square-foot showroom at Sutton Garrison Business Park where customers and tradespeople can view everything from French doors and uPVC windows to garage doors and roof lanterns.

Tom said: "This is one of the only showrooms of this size, not just in Macclesfield but the whole of Cheshire East and most of the North West.

"When people visit us it's not often they walk away without selecting ourselves because they like the fact they can see the products prior to purchase.

"We've also got such a wide range available here, there's not much we can't cater for."
