Chance to take a behind-the-scenes tour of new veterinary hospital

By Matthew Hancock-Bruce 2nd Apr 2025

A veterinary hospital is inviting the public to check out their new facility.

Wright and Morten Vets are hosting an open day this weekend.

It will give pets and owners a chance to meet the team and look around the practice, as well as meet a number of special guests.

Emma Chapman, practice director, said: "We are not often able to clear the workload to give behind-the-scenes tours but we are really proud of our new facility and want to share this with members of the public so they can come and meet the team and see the services available to their pets whenever they need us."

Life for Wright and Morten Vets started out in the early 1900s.

In November 2024, after nearly 100 years, they relocated to a larger purpose-built veterinary hospital at Lyme Green Retail Park.

This new premises has separate wards for dogs, cats and exotic animals and two distinct waiting areas for dogs and cats.

There are also more consulting rooms, plenty of parking spaces, two theatres, an intensive care ward, an isolation ward, designated dental and x-ray rooms and a new CT scanner.

Emma said: "It has been a big project to relocate after all those years but we are now settled in and looking forward to showing people around.

"We want to give owners the opportunity to come and have a tour of our new practice facilities as well as meet some of our team."

The open day takes place this Saturday (April 5) from 10am to 2pm.

Along with tours of the new facility, there will be a number of special guests in attendance.

Carolyn Thorpe from Off Leash Dog Training, veterinary physiotherapist Lily Nye, and pet portrait photographer Helen Spiegl will be on-site to discuss their services and answer your questions.

There will also be some competitions taking place to help raise money for Windyway Trust.
