Macclesfield's Afghan rug and gift store is settling into life at its new home.

AfghanPure has completed its move across town to Queen Victoria Street.

The move has seen owner Waheed Farooqi Zarga bring his two businesses, AfghanPure and Mini Pound Plus, together under one roof.

Waheed said: "I am very happy with our new location!

"It means we can now open seven days a week and extend our opening hours.

"This, with more space to showcase our products, all creates a more convenient experience for our customers."

Until now, AfghanPure had been based at Macclesfield Market Hall.

While sad to leave the indoor market behind, Waheed felt it was in the best interest of the business.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time there amongst the lovely community of co-traders and will always be grateful for the tremendous support from both the customers and the market management," Waheed said.

"It was a wonderful chapter that I will cherish.

"But I am also incredibly excited! This move represents a significant step forward."

The move has allowed Waheed to create a showroom where customers can more easily explore the range of rugs, kilims, cushion covers, shoulder bags, jewellery and crystals on offer.

AfghanPure can now be found downstairs at 3 Queen Victoria Street.

Mini Pound Plus will continue to occupy the ground floor, meaning customers will still be able to find a huge range of everyday essentials and fantastic value deals.

The shop is open 9am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and from 10am to 4pm on Sundays.

Waheed will also be attending Treacle Market as usual.
