Men of Macclesfield invited to join pop-up choir in aid of important cause
By Matthew Hancock-Bruce 25th Jan 2026
Men of Macclesfield are being invited to give singing a go.
February will see the formation of a new men's choir ahead of a concert in April in aid of East Cheshire Hospice.
Money raised will go towards supporting the hospice's own choir project for those with dementia called Singing for the Soul.
Choir organiser Bob Jenner said: "Singing is good for the soul, so our invitation is to start the New Year by trying something different and raise money for a top cause at the same time.
"No need to run a marathon or parachute jump... Its a win-win situation for the participants and the hospice's project.
"Better still, there is no financial commitment to join the group."

Weekly rehearsals for the 'All Men Can Sing' choir will begin on Wednesday, February 25.
No prior experience of singing is required, with 30 spaces available.
It is hoped the project will help to demonstrate the social and mental benefits of singing.
The final concert will take place at the United Reformed Church ion Park Green on April 18.
The All Men Can Sing choir will be joined on stage by Macclesfield Male Voice Choir.
