Macclesfield's newest art gallery is gearing up to host a celebrated local artist.

Art In The Stables Gallery at Martha Rose Interiors will play host to Debbie Goldsmith's latest exhibition, in association with Wendy J Levy Fine Art.

Cheshire-based Goldsmith is known for her large-scale abstract paintings and hand-tufted textile works, drawing inspiration from the natural environments of the North West and the North Wales coastline.

Her work has been exhibited in venues across the UK, including the Lowry, Manchester Art Gallery, the Kirkby Gallery in Merseyside and London Art Fair.

Neville Hinchliffe, owner of Martha Rose Interiors, said: "Supporting talented local and national artists and makers is at the heart of Art In The Stables Gallery at Martha Rose Interiors and we're thrilled to host Debbie's latest exhibition."

This exhibition marks an exciting new chapter for Martha Rose Interiors, which only opened on Brook Street earlier this year.

After 24 years at Arighi Bianchi, Neville decided to set up his own business and it's fair to say that things couldn't have gone much better so far, with the shop already nominated for a number of awards.

While at it's heart a carpets and flooring store, Neville is equally keen to help promote local artists.

This inspired him to create the Art In The Stables Gallery in partnership with Chester's Euphoric Arts, with the work of local artists such as Oliver Collins and Natalie Newsome already on display.

Looking ahead, Neville has plenty more exciting plans for the shop, including the launch of the Martha Rose Community Partnership and the addition of even more flooring, carpet and interior options - with more news to follow!

Goldsmith's exhibition opens at the Art In The Stables Gallery on Sunday, June 28.

There will be a special opening reception with refreshments from 11am to 3pm.

The collection of paintings and handmade rugs will remain on display until Saturday, August 29.

Martha Rose Interiors can be found at The Old Stables, Brook Street, Macclesfield, SK11 7AA.
