Macclesfield's West Park Café is hiring for staff is as they prepare to reopen
A Macclesfield coffee shop is set to reopen.
Cheshire East Council recently confirmed they are in talks with Everybody Health and Leisure, to become the temporary operator of West Park Café.
Everybody Health and Leisure, which currently runs coffee shops in leisure centres like Macclesfield and Bollington Leisure Centre, is expected to operate both the Queens Park Café in Crewe and West Park Café in Macclesfield on a temporary basis until a new permanent operator is secured.
While the Macclesfield Leisure Centre operators are remaining tight-lipped on an opening date, they have now started hiring for staff to work the new regime at West Park Café.
Job vacancies are being advertised on Everybody's Careers page for Café Assistant at West Park Café.
The pay is £11.53 – £11.66 per hour, to work at this new era for West Park Café.
Both full and part-time roles are required.
It is implied that those hired will also be able to have shifts at the Taste for Life Café in Macclesfield, as well as West Park Café.
The job description reads: "Ever dreamed of being a barista and crafting the perfect coffee?"
"Join our team as a Cafe Assistant and you can! Help people live well and for longer as a Cafe Assistant by creating an enjoyable experience for them in our cafes! Cafe Assistants pour perfect coffees, serve tasty treats, and make people's day that bit brighter with a friendly smile and conversation.
"If you get the feel-good factor from seeing customers happy and satisfied, this is the job for you!
"Our Taste for Life Cafés are community hubs & our Café Assistants help customers connect with others and get the most from their visit.
"Café Assistants work in our busy café based at Macclesfield Leisure Centre, as well as in West Park Café in the local community.
"Our Café Assistants are true multitaskers – greeting customers warmly, ensuring they get that perfect cappuccino or catering a children's party that makes their day extra memorable.
"Job duties include: Till work, coffee making, basic food prep and stocking supplies."
The closing date to apply is June 16, however, the reopening date for the much-missed Macclesfield coffee shop is still unknown.
Kerry Shea, deputy CEO at Everybody Health & Leisure, said: "Our Taste For Life cafes already welcome customers at six of our leisure centre locations across the borough, including Crewe and Macclesfield, and we hope to do the same at these park locations across the summer period."
