Thursday (18/12)

Town Carol Service

St Michael's Church hosts the annual Town Carol Service on Thursday, with this year's theme being 'Stories of Hope'.

The guest preacher will be the Bishop of Chester, Rt Revd Dr Mark Tanner, with Silk Brass Band providing the tunes.

The festivities get underway at 7pm.

Sunday (21/12)

Treacle Market

It's time for the final Treacle Market of the year!

A great opportunity for some last-minute shopping, expect 140+ stalls selling a wide range of products.

The Treacle Market runs from 10am to 3.30pm, with stalls located on Exchange Street, Mill Street, Castle Street, St Michael's Churchyard, The Butter Market, Market Place, Upper Market Place, and Chestergate.

Monday (22/12)

Baroque to Electric

Looking ahead to next week, St Michael's hosts more live music, this time in the form of a winter evening concert.

The first half of the concert showcases string quartet and piano arrangements of Baroque favourites.

In the second half, electric guitar and keyboard textures are woven into the programme, exploring the shared harmonic threads between baroque and more contemporary songs - from Bach unto Bowie.

Tuesday (23/12)

Breakfast with Santa

Ahead of the big day, Santa will be paying a visit to the Blacksmith Arms on Chelford Road.

From 9am to 10.15am, children can join Father Christmas for breakfast.

Priced at £12, each child will also receive a gift to take home.

The Christmas Cup

Priory Park plays host to the Christmas Cup on Tuesday.

The King's School Old Boys will take on a Macclesfield RUFC Select XV.

Bars open from 5pm ahead of a 6.30pm kick-off and entry is free!

Later this year

CeilidhMac's big New Year's Eve Ceilidhs

Looking ahead to the end of the year, CeilidhMac are hosting not one, not two but three New Year's Eve Ceilidhs.

You can bring the kids along to one of the two afternoon parties or head over to St Michael's from 8pm to midnight and dance the night away.

There will be a live folk bank, a caller to call the dance, a bar by Tommy's and hot food from Treacle Town Pies.
