The August bank holiday weekend has finally arrived!

To help you make the most of the long weekend, we've put together a guide to everything going on in and around Macclesfield.

Thursday (21/08)

Macclesfield College enrolment

Enrolment opens at Macclesfield College on Thursday.

No appointment is needed, just visit the college with your GCSE results and photo ID>

Enrolment opening times:

  • Thursday August 21: 10am – 6:30pm
  • Friday August 22: 10am – 2:30pm
  • Tuesday August 26: 10am – 6:30pm
  • Wednesday August 27: 10am – 3:30pm
  • Thursday August 28: 10am – 3:30pm
  • Friday August 29: 10am – 1:30pm
  • Saturday August 30: 10am – 12:30pm

Friday (22/08)

Badge making

Cartoonist Marc Jackson will be hosting the second of his summer badge making sessions at Room for Comics on Friday.

Suitable for chuldren aged five and above, attendees will be able to create their own designs and turn it into a badge.

No booking is required, with a cost of just £2 per badge.

Saturday (23/08)

1261 Festival

Named after the town's charter year, the 1261 Festival promises to be a celebration of Macclesfield creativity and community.

Expect live music, walking tours, exhibitions, theatre, talks, workshops and, of course, the 1261 Parade.

Sunday (24/08)

Sing in a Park

Fancy a bit of chilled singing to unwind and recharge?

Head over South Park on Sunday, meeting at the bandstand just before 7.30pm.

Windyway open day

Windyway open their doors to the public this weekend.

The event is free to attend and will feature a fun dog show, games, stalls, refreshments and a raffle.
