Support service's chief executive completes near 100-mile walk to work for charity

A support service's chief executive has completed a near 100-mile walk to work.
Dave Young, co-founder of Independence Support Limited, raised over £3,000 has he trekked from his home in south Leicestershire to the company's head office in Macclesfield.
After seven days and 226,651 steps, Dave and his son Sean crossed the finish line at around 2pm on Friday (August 22), having covered 99 miles in total after several reroutes – including detours around fields of bulls and boggy terrain.
Along the way, Dave also faced searing heat, grazes from trips, and even a careful crawl under an electric fence.
"I'm absolutely thrilled to have reached the finish line – and to have done it for such amazing causes," he said.
"The walk has been tough at times, but every step has been worth it knowing the difference these charities make in their communities."

At the time of writing, Dave's efforts have resulted in £3,342 in donations.
These funds will go directly to ISL's 11 charity partners:
- Equine Pathways UK
- Street Life Blackpool
- Dougie Mac
- Chance Changing Lives
- Silklife Foodbank Macclesfield
- Farnworth and Kearsley Foodbank
- St Nicks
- Stick 'n' Step
- Live! Cheshire
- Manna House
- Alsager and District Foodbank
"These charities are the lifeblood of their communities," said Dave.

The JustGiving page will remain open here for another week.
