A Thai-Isan restaurant in Macclesfield town centre is set to shut.

The Laab on Market Place has announced it will soon be closing its doors for good.

Owner Kipsy Day says the move will allow her to focus her efforts on her other business, Naga Spa.

She said: "After deep reflection, I've made the decision to close The Laab Street Food Thai-Isan and focus my time on my family and my other business, Naga Spa, here in Macclesfield.

"The Laab has been a true labour of love — it brought the authentic flavours of Thai-Isan cuisine to our town and created so many wonderful memories.

"I've poured my heart, soul, and energy into it from day one, and I'm beyond grateful to everyone who supported us over the years."

The Laab opened in the summer of 2024, replacing Ocha.

While an official closing date hasn't yet been announced, the restaurant will be offering 20% off all bills until that time comes.

Kipsy added: "As a business owner and a mum, balancing two businesses and family life has been an incredible journey, but now feels like the right time to simplify and focus where my passion continues to grow — in wellness, healing, and beauty through Naga Spa.

"This isn't a goodbye — I'm still right here in Macclesfield, and I'd love for everyone to come and see me at Naga Spa, where the same warmth, energy, and care that built The Laab continues to live on.

"Thank you to everyone for all of your support!"
