The Picturedrome vendor Honest Crust have fundraised over £300 for a Macclesfield charity, just by selling pizza.
Honest Crust, who were one of The Picturedrome's founding stalls, recently decided to start donating 25p per Margherita to a Macclesfield Smile Group.
Smile Group support families across Cheshire East, which are affected by mental health problems relating to pregnancy and the postnatal period.
In the first two months, the pizzeria inside Chestergate eatery have sold over 1000 margherita pizza's.
This has raised £324.50 for Macclesfield good cause Smile Group.
Smile Group Co-Founder Natalie Nuttall founded the charity in 2011 with Ruth Williams - after they both experienced perinatal mental illness and saw a gap in Macclesfield's care provision.
Natalie said: "It is really exciting to have raised so much already - and I think it speaks volumes of the quality of the Margherita pizza as well."
"Honest Crust were looking for a community-based social enterprise charity to work with. And it was great to see The Picturedrome has such aligned values with us, such as caring about supporting the local community.
"I also think they were quite interested in our cause - raising perinatal mental health awareness - because they are really family-oriented in terms of their customer base.
"And for us it is helpful to create awareness, but also to reduce stigma around mental health challenges, to not stop people from accessing support when they need it.
"Any funding goes direct into service provisions for us, so it will go into resourcing services on the ground, and meeting the needs of parents in our community."
20% of women are affected by emotional wellbeing challenges in the perinatal period, according to NHS England.
To help, Smile Group runs peer support group sessions on Ash Grove in Macclesfield, every Friday from 10am to 12pm. (Pre-registration is encouraged via [email protected]).
As well as mum, they provide support to dads and welcome babies and toddlers under three years old.
The Picturedrome Manager Jake Atkinson said: "It is so nice to work with a charity that is local.
"It ties into what we are aiming for, to work with people locally."
Natalie added: "We're really excited about the partnership, and hopefully host some events together in the future as well."
