A Macclesfield coffee, cake and sandwich spot is celebrating their third anniversary this weekend.

East Macclesfield coffee shop Yas Bean turns three this Saturday.

Yas Bean will be hosting a cowboy themed birthday party, with fancy dress welcome.

There'll be freebies galore, as well as special edition bakes and drinks.

Free entry, just pay for your sweet treats and delicious drinks.

The coffee shop, of 219 Buxton Road, opens from 8:30am to 3pm on Saturday, so there is plenty of time to party.

The business existed as a coffee van during lockdown, before graduating to their current Buxton Road premises 48 months ago.

Mika Johnson, who co-owns Yas Bean with business and life partner Dan Hardman, spoke with Macclesfield Nub News.

"We are so glad to be here after all the trials our country has faced, through lockdowns and the cost of living crisis - the fact people still choose to support us means we can carry on doing what we love," said Mika.

"It enables us to fulfil our dreams, support the local economy and bring a great product to the town we love. Thank you."

When asked about how it feels for their little shop to be turning three, Mika spoke with great pride.

"This is one of those pinch me if I'm dreaming moments, because it really has gone in a flash," he said.

"Our business has grown and evolved so much in such a short time and we are both totally proud of what we have created. Special thanks to our team who bring this dream to life every single day."

This Saturday's celebration will be rodeo themed, from cowboy tunes to prizes for customers.

A special birthday cold brew, served with sweet cream and sprinkles (photo at top of article) will be served.

As well as attire from the Wild West, certain customers will be able to enjoy a free birthday brownie.

"As a token of our gratitude the first 100 customers are going to get a cheeky birthday brownie on the house," proclaimed Mika.

"We've got birthday cake, a glittering selfie wall, and even a birthday iced drink.

"Plus it's a rodeo themed day - this isn't our first rodeo, after all! Pink cowboy looks are *highly* encouraged.

"We are proud to say that we make all our cakes and bakes from scratch, work hard to support local suppliers and are generally just much more fun than yer local chain."

It has been a huge year for Yas Bean. The independent, grab-and-go coffee shop received national attention from an ex-Great British Bake Off contestant and the delivery platform Just Eat.

"We launched our picnic menu this summer which includes a new fan favourite, the chicken Caesar salad and some incredible sandwich options using local and seasonal produce," added Mika.

"Our new collaboration with Cloudwater is a refreshing can of alcohol free margarita style beer - it's perfect for these sunny days we are finally having! We are also using a really great quality matcha which is continuing to see a growing fanbase."

As they enter their fourth year, Nub News asked Yas Bean what the future holds.

"TOP SECRET but let's just say train commuters might have something caffeine related to look forward too soon," teased Mika.

"We'll be revealing more on our Instagram soon!"
