A food bank volunteer got dressed up to say thank you to their donors.

Stuart Reeves decided that VE Day was the perfect opportunity to visit the stores that donate to Cheshire Streetwise's Macclesfield food banks every week.

However, Stuart wanted to make his visit extra special and so he put on his uniform and jumped in his army jeep.

He popped in to three of the shops that regularly support the food bank to pay thanks - Tesco in Broken Cross, Tesco in the town centre and M&S at Barracks Mill.

Cheshire Streetwise runs food banks out of Calvary Church on Merebrook Road and from The Salvation Army's church off Roe Street.

Barbara Regan, from Calvary Church, said: "We at Streetwise are truly appreciative of these stores donations which enable us to continue supporting our community.

"There is always an opportunity to keep the spirit of hope going, it's part of the British DNA!

"A big thank you to you all."
