'Vital' free parking will continue in Bollington.
Bollington Town Council has confirmed that parking will remain free at Pool Bank car park.
It follows previous concerns that fees may have to be introduced to meet rising costs.
A statement released by the council reads: "Free parking will continue at Pool Bank car park for residents and visitors at better than the original contracted increase following successful negotiations by Bollington Town Council with Cheshire East Council, helping to protect the 2026-27 budget and maintain essential services.
"The council understands how vital accessible, no-cost parking is for supporting local shops, businesses, community venues, and everyone who enjoys visiting Bollington."

Ahead of November's full council meeting, the council announced it would be re-evaluating the free parking provision, which is covered by the town's part of the council tax - the precept.
It came as a consequence of Cheshire East Council's proposals to 'significantly increase' costs.
This prompted concern among members of the Bollington community, with the Bridgend Centre writing to the council to share their thoughts.
A spokesperson said at the time: "As a vital and unique charity situated in the heart of our town but without our own parking on site, the Bridgend Centre views the car park at Pool Bank as essential to being able to provide our services."
