Waste catches fire in Macclesfield Forest

Every Bank Holiday weekend sees visitors flock to Macc Forest for some refuge in nature.
But this weekend saw nature showing its fiercer side as a fire began in the north of Macclesfield Forest.
At 18:12pm on Sunday 7 May, while many of us were settling down to watch the Coronation Concert, Cheshire Fire and Rescue attended Macclesfield Forest to extinguish a fire.
The Charity Lane blaze saw a crew of one fire engine use a water backpack to extinguish a small fire involving a small amount of rubbish and debris.
