Heritage Open Day
This weekend, the first ever Heritage Open Day will take place in Macclesfield, celebrating the great societies, independent traders and other things to do in our town.
Venues will open across the town with free activities. Between 10am and 3:30pm.
For example, a 333-year-old church will open their doors to the community. The King Edward Street Chapel will open their doors to find out its value to the community for events. St. Paul's Church will be doing something similar, and serving free tea or breakfast, Christ Church are also offering something similar.
St. Michael's Church will welcome the community in for a special bellringing event, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the current church bells.
Macclesfield Library will be hosting a free wax art morning, more info HERE. And The Silk Museum will be hosting walking tours around Macc throughout the day, just meet up at their HQ to take part.
On Saturday daytime in the Town Hall will be the following exhibitors: ArtSpaceMacclesfield, Prestbury Philatelic Society, Macclesfield Seals, Girl Guides Macclesfield, Light Orchestra, Macclesfield and Congleton District Scouts, Macclesfield Akido Club, Macclesfield Community Tree Nursery, Macclesfield Music Centre, The Quakers, Sylk Dance, RSPB Wildlife Explorers Macclesfield, Macclesfield Flower Arranging Club, The Green in the Corner Hurdsfield, HerSpace Macclesfield, The Rossendale Trust, MHA Communities, Macclesfield Trefoil Guild, U3A, Citizens Advice Bureau, East Cheshire Hospice, and Macclesfield Brass.
There will also be small local businesses selling things in the Town Hall at the same time. More info on that HERE.
MADS Theatre will launch their first play of the 2023-24 season on the same day, as well as welcoming the community in for a free tour in the daytime.
Bollington Bikefest
On the Sunday, a charity cycle will take place.
The 11th Bollington Bikefest will take place.
Beneficiaries include East Cheshire Hospice. Apply HERE.
Also in Bolly
The Bollington Walking Festival kicks-off this Saturday.
There are 38 walks on the programme, so there really is a walk for everyone
The first walk is a 27-miler, meeting at the Adlington Road Carpark at 8am on Saturday.

Live Music
Local brother and sister duo OBS will be performing for the first time at Happy Valley Tap and Pizza.
Modern classic covers with originals. Come and support your local music scene.
