What would you like to see in this empty Macclesfield shop?
There's something quite charming about Macclesfield's Thornton Square.
From the independent family-run businesses of George's and M&H Barber, to charity shops where you can can find a sweet deal while supporting the community.
And there's an ethical supermarket and friendly local pub there to boot. Nestled within walking distance for thousands of people, it has (almost) everything that a community needs.
But indicative of the times we are in, like many streets with rows of businesses, right in the middle of it as an empty shop.
Unit 6 of Thornton Avenue, Thornton Square, is available to take over.
The previous tenant, Thornton Glamour, had opened in early 2022 before shutting in the summer of this year.
Before that, it was a newsagents called Martin's.
However, it is currently on the rental market for £1417pcm. That works out at £17,000 per year.
The unit comprises 830 square feet. And is currently being marketed under the guise of being a newsagents, as a convenience store as opposed to the previous use of it being a hair salon.
The rental property is being marketed by LCP Commercial.
Other shops on the strip include a barbers and an off-licence store.
