Here's the five best events going on in Macc this weekend.

It is our first 'What's on weekend' of the year, where we round-up events going on in the Macclesfield area.

Here's what we recommend you get up to over the next few days - provided you don't mind the cold weather!

  1. Live Music at Mash

Celebrating 36,000 streams of recent album, prog blues rock trio THR33 are Mash Guru's first gig of 2022.

Citing influences such as Jeff Beck, YES, Genesis, Al DiMeola, Pink Floyd, this is guaranteed to be a virtuosic display of musicianship at the Macclesfield music venue.

  1. Wedding Fayre

Getting hitched soon? Or thinking about tying the knot? Shrigley Hall Hotel are hosting a Wedding Fayre on Sunday from 11.

With free entry and parking, set in the beautiful backdrop of the Hall's grounds, it is a no brainer Macclesfield.

Over 30 stalls will be there, and the spa will be open for you to detox after the mad dash meeting vendors.

It is free to attend, with free parking. However, you can pre-register your attendance to potentially win a free hen do.

  1. Macclesfield FC vs Wythenshawe Town

The Silkmen have a close game of football ahead as they take on fellow promotion-pushers Wythenshawe Town. It will be 1st place first 3rd place at the Leasing.Com Stadium on Saturday.

The 3pm kick-off comes off've Macclesfield's narrow loss to Prestwich Heys, with the club hoping to bounce back.

New signing Mark Duffy could make his debut.

  1. Karaoke
Not one but TWO karaoke nights will be hosted at The Cheshire Gap this weekend. They'll be special offers on drinks, and a very charismatic host. Sing what you like at the Mill Street deli-cum-bar, which recently got their alcohol licence You can follow them on Facebook here.
  1. Charlotte Day
Pop and jazz twinged performer Charlotte Day will be armed with her guitar and vocals chords on Sunday, as she performs at The Shamrock Bar. She'll be on stage from 7pm, at the pub which operates an over 21 only policy. She teaches kids across Macc, as well as being a popular events singer.
