It is that time of weekend again. Here's our picks for the best events in town this weekend.

Without further ado here's our top picks of things to do in Macclesfield this weekend...

  1. Silkmen Trophy Ceremony

Macclesfield FC's final league match of the season is against AFC Liverpool this weekend.

They will lift the trophy, having comfortably topped the North West Counties Football League Premier Division. The club are aiming for a sell-out of their 4700 fans. Tickets here.

The Silkmen are in good form. They beat Congleton 3-1 in their penultimate league game last Saturday.

Macc also saw off Sandbach United in the Macron Cup in midweek, with James Berry and Harry Freedman scoring the goals to beat the other Cheshire side 2-1.

  1. Deep Fakes DJ Set

23 Back Wallgate bar G&T Macclesfield will have a pair of DJs playing this Saturday night.

From 9 pm - 2 am the new combination that is Deep Fakes will be playing 80's and 90's tunes.

It is free entry all night and a brand new spring/summer cocktail menu will be available to drink this weekend. More info here.

  1. Harrison Wyatt

This Sunday at Happy Valley Brewery and 73 and Pizza on 73 Oxford Road, there will be a free gig with local musician Harrison Wyatt.

Organiser Grant Chidzey said: "Come down to support your live music scene, stuff yourself with pizza, drink our own beer from our microbrewery and to enjoy our awesome beer garden."

He'll be playing covers of rock and indie artists, from the ones you know, to some more obscure tracks. More info here.

  1. Tegg's Nose Astronomy

The warmer nights are getting closer, and that means we'll be having more events in the nighttime.

And this unforgettable stargazing experience at Tegg's Nose could help inspire a young mind or expand an old one.

Join Macclesfield Astronomical Society for an evening of astronomy at Tegg's Nose Country Park on Saturday from 7:30pm to 11pm. Tickets cost just a fiver.

  1. The Dopes

It is rare these days that a musical act can be described as 'one-of-a-kind', but Macclesfield rap duo The Dopes are truly so.

They are spectacularly out there, and have honed their craft at recent Treacle Market's.

They will now take to the stage at Cinemac on Roe Street. The good humoured, original performance will also raise money for Ukraine.

The tickets, which cost £5 will go to the Red Cross DEC Appeal for Ukraine.

Doors 8pm. They'll be on stage at 9:30pm.

  1. Fundraising Quiz

Finally, Macclesfield community gardening good cause ONE Project are hosting a fundraising quiz this weekend.

Just head to The Fountain on Park Green for 5pm to take part. It costs just £2 per person to enter.

The Bollington Brewing Company bar and diner has also just turned six months old.
