The biggest male choir concert of the year comes to Macclesfield this weekend.

A one-off performance of over 60 singers will be heard in Macclesfield when Audley Male Voice Choir from Staffordshire perform with Macclesfield Male Voice Choir.

Member Laurie Kennard called the large number of singers 'an unusual feat'.

Their concert will include an interesting variety of music, from a beautiful arrangement of the Lord's Prayer, through Opera choruses to recognised modern pieces such as 'Last of the Summer Wine'. Two fabulous Royal Northern College of Music trained soloists - mezzo-soprano Alice Barry and soprano Eleanor Hull, will also be performing. Rehearsals have stepped up of late, with the added bonus of help from David Jones - the lead accompanist also from the Royal Northern College.

The concert is on Saturday 24th September at 19.30 at St. Michael & All Angels Church, Market Place, Macclesfield SK10 1DY.

All are welcome and tickets at £15 each (£5 for under 16s) can be obtained via their website (events page) at www.maccmvc.co.uk or in person from one of the choir's singers.
