A grassroots football club has shown their gratitude to the Macclesfield Community.

Macclesfield Town Ladies FC held a fundraiser last weekend, to keep the club kicking on.

The fundraiser, as promoted by Macclesfield Nub News last week, took place last Sunday.

Members of the public could take part, as players or spectators.

A two-minute silence of Remembrance was observed.

Volunteer Gaz Davies told Macclesfield Nub News: "A massive round of applause to everyone who made the Macclesfield Town Ladies Fundraising Match an incredible success."

"Thanks to your amazing support, we raised a phenomenal £600 towards our 1st team's new training facilities.

"This was our first-ever event of this kind, and the effort and enthusiasm everyone showed made it truly special.

"On the field, the first team soared with a fantastic 6-3 victory in a thrilling match.

The club is always seeking for new players, from ages Under 9 to adult.

"Hannah Johnson took home the PoTM award for two incredible strikes, including a first time volley

"We'd also like to say a huge thank you to Ashton United Football Club for donating the kit for the coaches, friends and family team to wear."

The club is always seeking for new players, from ages Under 9 to adult.
