A football club enters a new era this summer.

From June 1, Tytherington Juniors FC will officially be renamed Tytherington Football Club.

This transition marks the club's evolution from a grassroots football club to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO)

Ahead of this landmark moment, the club has launched a competition for members to design their new badge.

Secretary Matt O'Brien said: "We believe in empowering everyone who is part of our club to have a say in its future.

"That's why this competition is open to all members, from players to parents, coaches, and supporters.

"Your design could become the new face of the club, proudly display on all Tytherington FC apparel for years to come!"

Matt added: "This competition holds extra significance as we carry forward a proud tradition.

"The last Tytherington Junior FC badge was designed by player Tommy Barton in the early 90s.

"Today, Tommy has two children playing for the club, and his legacy continues to inspire us.

"Now it's time for your to leave your mark, just as Tommy did decades ago."

Tytherington Juniors FC was founded in 1987.

Today, it is one of the largest grassroots football clubs in the region, with 49 teams spanning from U6s through to open age football.

Becoming a CIO means the club can now accept Gift Aid and apply for funding.

It also ensures all income is reinvested into providing high-quality coaching, improved facilities, and opportunities for local children and adults.

On this note, Tytherington FC are exploring the opportunity to offer SEN sessions and pan-disability football.
