A former England international has been named as Macclesfield FC's new chief executive officer.
Experienced Football League manager Keith Curle has been brought in to oversee the Silkmen's long-term strategic and commercial vision.
The 62-year-old will take overall control of all operational matters and report directly into the board of directors.
Keith will be supported by Bob Trafford, who will become deputy chief executive officer, together with a senior management team comprised of Amanda Penney, Lindsay Brown and Rachael Brown.
A statement released by the club reads: "Bringing an exceptional blend of elite football pedigree and over two decades of sharp commercial business acumen, Curle's appointment represents a pivotal addition in our mission to progress back up through the football pyramid.
"As chief executive, Curle's role will focus largely on executive governance, commercial sustainability, and growth both on and off the pitch. This is supported by his vast local knowledge and wealth of contacts throughout the football industry.
"In former business-related roles, Curle has relied on rigorous project management, strict budgetary discipline, sharp negotiation skills, and long-term asset planning. These transferable skills will now bolster Macclesfield FC's corporate framework.
"There can be no doubt that Keith's unique dual-perspective provides a significant advantage to the Silkmen across all areas of the club.
"Off the pitch, his proven commercial background gives the club a leader who understands financial sustainability at every level.
"In addition to this, Keith's impact will be beneficial on the pitch, as his intimate understanding of the football pyramid means he can seamlessly support our recruitment department, mentor the coaching staff, and ensure the sporting infrastructure is built to meet EFL standards.
"As ever, our supporters will play a vital role in the journey ahead, and we ask all Silkmen fans to join us in welcoming Keith to the Leasing.com Stadium – showing him the pride and passion that make this club so unique."
Over the course of his 24-year playing career, Curle played for the likes of Bristol City, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Wimbledon and Manchester City, serving as captain of the latter between 1991 and 1996.
He also earned three international caps for England during his memorable 1992 breakthrough year.
His subsequent transition into the dugout saw him amass nearly 600 games as a manager across the English Football League.
One of his most notable managerial successes came during a stint as assistant manager at Queens Park Ranger, helping the side to achieve promotion to the Premier League in 2011.
He then led Northampton Town to League One via the play-offs in 2020.
Away from the pitch, Curle works as a League Manager's Association Mentor which encompasses managers, coaches and players.
He has also built a 'formidable reputation as an astute entrepreneur', operating Keith Curle Sports Management Limited, a firm that focuses on player recruitment strategy, corporate operations, and contract consultation.
