Macclesfield FC have issued a warning to fans over 'discriminatory behaviour'.
The Silkmen released a statement on Thursday morning, April 2, reminding supporters that there is zero tolerance for any form of hateful comments.
It follows a number of 'isolated incidents' in recent weeks and comes as John Rooney's side prepare for a busy Easter bank holiday weekend, taking on local rivals Buxton and Chester in quick succession.
The statement reads: "Macclesfield FC would like to reiterate to supporters that we have a zero-tolerance approach to any form of discriminatory behaviour.
"It has come to the club's attention that a handful of isolated incidents have occurred in the last few weeks.
"Football is a sport for all, and there is no place in society for any form of hateful comments.
"We, as a club, strongly condemn the behaviour of any supporter involved in directing such comments and will act with immediate effect to find anyone responsible.
"Our club sets the highest standards both on and off the field, and we are committed to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all our supporters, both at home and away.
"If any supporter wishes to report any form of discriminatory behaviour, please email [email protected] or call us on 01625426708."
