By Matthew Hancock-Bruce 6th Mar 2026
A former Macclesfield FC employee has appeared in court.
The Silkmen have released a statement confirming that a former member of office staff has admitted to a string of offences relating to the possession of indecent images.
While the offences were not in any way connected to his job, the club has been working with authorities to ensure saeguarding practices are 'meticulously and dynamically' followed.
The individual in question was removed from 'all football-related businesses at the earliest possible time'.
The club's statement, shared on Friday, March 6, reads: "Macclesfield FC are aware that a former office employee has pleading [sic] guilty to numerous offences of possessing indecent images and is now awaiting sentencing.
"As well as condemning this in the most vehement manner possible, we would like to assure everyone that the individual was removed from all football-related businesses at the earliest possible time - which was over nine months ago.
"The football club have worked, and will continue to work with a range of authorities (including the police, local council and Football Association), in order to ensure that our safeguarding practices remain meticulously and dynamically followed at all times.
"We would also like to stress that all of the aforementioned offences were committed privately, and not in any way associated with either Macclesfield FC or Macclesfield FC International Academy.
"We will be making no further comment on this matter."
Cheshire Police have been contacted for further information.
