A local brewer has pledged to support a grassroots sport in a Macclesfield parish.
Beartown Brewery has joined the list of sponsors supporting Prestbury Cricket Club for the forthcoming season, as illustrated here by their logo on the 2023 kit.
Pictured modelling this summer's cricket shirt is 18-year-old all-rounder Will Worswick, Prestbury's Player of the Year for the last two seasons.
The brewery joins Stone MC, the project management company, and solicitors Shoosmiths on the club's list of sponsors alongside two iconic centres of the vibrant Prestbury social scene in the Admiral Rodney and The Foxhole.
The cricket club are currently chipping away at an outlay of £35,000 required for new nets, so it is helpful the bar in their recently modernised pavilion is open to the public, which will boost income.
Beartown Brewery completed a renovation project last year at their Spindle Street brewery in Congleton as they expanded into major UK cities, including Manchester and Liverpool.
Work included the installation of vast and eye-catching shiny new equipment which can now be viewed from a stylish taproom within the brewery called The Den.
Said cricket club chair Nick Taylor: "We're delighted to have the brewery on board as a sponsor especially as they are situated locally in Cheshire.
"Our relationship started when I visited The Den and it was an experience to be enjoying the taste of their beer in the very place where it was made.
"We are looking forward to stocking Beartown's award winning beers in our own premises, also beautifully refurbished."
Beartown Brewery were recently announced as Manufacturer of the Year during the awards night of the East Cheshire Chamber of Commerce & Enterprise at the De Vere Cranage Estate in Holmes Chapel
The brewery's managing director, Joe Manning, donated a four-pack of Beartown Beer to the other Chamber of Commerce award winners.
