Macclesfield swimmers claim huge medal haul in county championships

Macclesfield swimmers put in a dominant display in the Cheshire County Championships.
Satellites Swimming Club secured 122 medals on their way to second place in the 2025 edition of the countywide competition.
It demonstrates a significant improvement for the club - an increase of 50 from last year's haul of 72 medals.
There was particular success for the relay teams, who contributed 16 medals, eight of those being gold.
"This reflects not only the individual strength of our swimmers but also the depth of talent and teamwork within the squads," said head Coach Ben Cleaveley.
He added: "The coaching team couldn't be prouder of the swimmers' performances over the course of the competition.
"As we move forward into the rest of the season, we will continue to build on this momentum, and drive for the same success we had at this year's county championships."

Next up for Satellites is round two of the Peak & Plains League 2025.
It takes place at Crewe Lifestyle Centre this Saturday, February 15.
In March, the club is holding trials for their competitive squads.
