Specsavers have donated over £8000 to local football this year, with Tytherington Juniors being the latest recipient.

A Macclesfield opticians has stepped up to help Tytherington Juniors FC team kick off the season in style by sponsoring their new kit.

Specsavers on Mill Street in the Grosvenor Shopping Centre has invested £680 on 20 training tops for the under-11s team, who are based at Rugby Drive Playing Fields.

'As a local business we are passionate about supporting our local community, especially at grassroots sports level', comments Specsavers Macclesfield store director, Angharad Butler.

'We're delighted to be supporting an amateur football club that's ethos is around inclusivity, development and enjoyment.

"[It is] a club that aims to keep sub costs at a minimum to allow as many local families and children as possible to reap the benefits of team sport, is one that we are proud to be associated with.

'We'd like to wish them all the best for the new season, we know they certainly look the part!'

Aaron Loftus, volunteer coach, Tytherington FC adds: 'We're so grateful that a company with such a strong brand as Specsavers has stepped up and offered to fund the new kits for the under-11s team.

"The logo looks great on the shirts and we're confident that they'll be keeping their eyes on the ball!'

"If your budding sports star wears glasses, it might be worth considering Specsavers prescription sports goggles, which have been specifically designed to stand up to the rigours of team sports.

"If they're really not keen on glasses, your child might like to try wearing contact lenses.
