An east Macclesfield venue will keep the Bank Holiday Coronation festivities going on Sunday, with a free party event.
St. Paul's Church, of Glegg Street/Brook Street in Macclesfield, will welcome the community with open arms with a day out packed with activities.
Churchwarden Matthew Cooper told us what to expect from this Sunday's event.
"Sunday will be a busy day for us", said Matthew.
"We will start with a service at half past ten, which is a special Coronation service associated with the Church of England.
"And then at half 12 we go straight into our afternoon celebrations.
"We have lots planned from local singers, someone from a nearby school coming in to play the harp, we've got Macc Forest Pilates coming in with some demonstrations.
"One Project Macclesfield [who have an office at nearby Turnock Street] will be coming round with a stall as well.
"There will be raffles, tombolas, games, balloon modelling with Bollington Balloons and a free BBQ."
And some of the goodies at the party have been supplied to St. Paul's by the Co-op and Macclesfield Nub News, after St. Paul's were one of two winners to receive a Coronation Party Pack.
"I saw an application on Macclesfield Nub News to win a free Coronation party pack, and thought you know what, this will make it better for the community," explained Matthew.
"Sunday will be all about celebrating the community and showing that we're here.
"I was really pleased when I found out that we'd won. I don't often win anything so it was really good, it adds a bit more of a dimension to things. Thank you to the Co-op and Macc Nub, it is going to enhance our celebration.
"And the local Co-op on Buxton Road we wanted to build links with as well, so winning this helps us. It is strengthening those community links.
"The pavement chalk is my favourite item in the box. Touch wood if it is dry on Sunday we can get some wonderful drawings outside."
Matthew, who has been coming to the church all his life, enjoys working on the community aspect of the church.
"Sunday will be a great event to get all the community involved", added Matthew.
"And to make people aware that we are here and also to promote the roof appeal we have at the moment as well.
"Our grander plans are for it to be a much more usable community space.
"If you've not been here in a while, come and have a look on Sunday and see what you remember, and appreciate what a great community resource it is."
Beyond the Coronation, big community events at St. Paul's can be found online. Macclesfield Nub News and the Co-op thank all who entered the competition.
Co-op membership helps support your local community, with great rewards for you too. When you buy selected Co-op branded products and services, 2p for every pound spent goes to you and the Co-op gives the same to local communities.
