Our concert opens with Beethoven’s much loved and highly dramatic overture Leonore No 3 – one of no fewer than four that he wrote for his opera Leonore, later re-named Fidelio.

We’ll also be bringing you an excerpt from Beethoven’s Ode to Joy, the fourth and final movement of his epic Choral Symphony.

To bring us up to the present day, we’ll be performing John Rutter’s set of spirituals Feel the Spirit.

The concert will conclude with one of Rimsky-Korsakov’s most popular compositions Sheherazade.
