Macclesfield FC have revealed their fifth summer signing, and it is an exciting young English talent.

Jack Grimshaw (21) will come to the Leasing.com Stadium for the Silkmen's debut season.

"Jack is a hard-working, tenacious addition to our side, who can be employed across the midfield," the club said.

"His attributes include remarkable levels of consistency and displaying a maturity in his play which far outweighs his years.

"We would like to wish Jack every success here at Macclesfield FC and will be catching up with him about the move shortly."

Jack started his professional career in the Midlands Wolverhampton Wanderers, Jack then moved to Port Vale in Staffordshire where he progressed through the scholarship ranks and worked his way up to Reserve Team level.

At this point, Jack enrolled as a student at the Manchester UCFB Undergraduate Academy and in addition to studying for an honours degree in Football Management and Coaching.

Jack captained the University side when they bagged the North West Under 21 Development League title.

The talents of the midfielder attracted FC United of Manchester, and he went on to lead their successful Under-21s team.

Jack could face his old side, as they are Macclesfield FC's final friendly of the season.

Macc play FC United of Manchester on July 27, as we reported on last week.

Jack would make his First Team debut for The Red Rebels during the 2018/19 campaign.

After impressing at the Northern Premier League Premier Division side's Broadhurst Park stadium, Jack would spend a brief summer with Prescot Cables.

He went on to sign for North West Counties Premier Division side Skelmersdale United ahead of the 2019/20 campaign.

There is another opportunity for Jack to face a former club this season - as Macclesfield FC will play the Lancashire club twice this season.

Making thirty-three appearances at the Skelmersdale JMO Sports Park, Jack scored two goals before adding a further nine appearances in the cancelled 2020/21 season.

He is raring to go for Macclesfield FC as an attacking midfielder in Danny Whittaker's side for 2021/22.

We profiled the previous four signings in this article last week.
