A local, independent coffee shop chain, The Coffee House has opened in Macclesfield today.

The Coffee House has opened in Macclesfield town centre, adding to it's growing portfolio of locations; including Northwich, Longton, Lymm and Warrington to name a few.

The new store is located on Chestergate, close to Macclesfield Town Hall.

The Coffee House has transformed the former Nationwide branch near the entrance to the Grosvenor Shopping Centre.

The family business, which started in our county, has just opened their latest premises in Macclesfield.

Founded in 2011 by brothers Chris and Stephen Shelmerdine, The Coffee House has been dedicated to changing the way people eat, drink, and relax in their local communities.

The coffee shop is famous for its specialty coffee produced in their Warrington based 'RoastHouse', which can be enjoyed in-store or purchased online to enjoy at home.

They also offer a range of loose-leaf teas, brewing equipment, and reusable cups.

Co-founder Chris Shelmerdine said: "Previously a bank, we have really enjoyed bringing life back into the space that was untouched for nearly nine years, and is now a really cosy spot for friends and families to eat, drink and relax!"

The refurbishments in the store look fantastic with stunning mural of Jodrell Bank as the centerpiece. Be sure to pop in and see it for yourself.

The site also boasts outdoor seating, which will be best enjoyed in the spring and summer.

All The Coffee House's food and confectionery products are made daily in their central production facility in Warrington, before being hand-packaged and delivered to their stores.

Each store features a signature interior design, with exclusive wall murals that pay homage to each location.

The Macclesfield store boasts a bespoke wooden counter handmade by the brothers' father, industrial-style furnishings, ambient lighting, and comfortable seating to create a cosy, modern and relaxing environment.

They will serve food to eat in or take away seven days a week.

Ed Kennedy, Centre Manager at Grosvenor Shopping Centre added: "We are really excited to be welcoming The Coffee House to Grosvenor Shopping Centre."

"It will be the perfect spot for the Macclesfield community to come together and enjoy a slice of cake or two.

"Supporting independent businesses' in the current climate is really important and we are proud to be playing a role in supporting The Coffee House with their latest opening, with what I'm sure will be a positive future here at Grosvenor."

If you are unable to come and visit the store in the first few days of opening, why not support them on social media?

The business - which has a HQ in Cheshire - has just opened their new Macclesfield store at 24-26 Chestergate, SK11 6BA.

Macclesfield is The Coffeehouse's 17th store, and was preceded by an opening in nearby Stoke earlier this year.

Their 18th will be in nearby Stockport and will shortly follow Macc's opening.
