On the weekend of 7-8 September, Stockport Masonic Guildhall will host one of its landmark calendar events.

The historic venue will host the Mind Body Spirit event, which will see speakers, traders, and exhibitors come together for a full weekend of activities.

Those interested will be able to find meditation sessions, yoga, art, and much more.

The event works like an open convention. Visitors pay an entry fee, and from there get access to 56 workshops and talks throughout the weekend.

Guests are handed an itinerary upon entry, with which they can plan their day(s). Be mindful that there is lots to see!

There will be three rooms available on each day to host the demonstrations and talks.

There are also private rooms for activities such as one-to-one breathwork, Thai massages, and more.

The event is organised by Rosemary Douglas - she has been hosting similar gatherings for almost 20 years.

In that time she has met with countless exhibitors and speakers, many of whom will be making an appearance at this upcoming iteration.

Speakers and visitors will be coming not just from across the country, but from across the globe.

Rosemary herself has selected all the exhibitors based on her own rich experience in the field - the September event will therefore be a gathering of what she considers to be the best possible combination of speakers and activities.

And as well as the speakers, there will also be traders, plus food and drink.

The motto for the event as a whole is "love your mind, love your body, love your spirit".

This is not the first time the Guildhall will host Mind Body Spirit - similar events took place in September 2023, and in February this year.

"Some people have said it's been life-changing", Rosemary said. "I've had it said to me many times.

"I think it's an opportunity for people to use it as a springboard for a change in direction for a career.

"People say that if this event wasn't here, and if they hadn't met a certain person, then changes within them wouldn't have been triggered.

"All we're doing is facilitating possibilities for people, about changes that they may make."

She added: "The energy here is very welcoming. People don't need to have anybody else that they know here. It's a very safe space.

"And there's lots of interesting people to have a chat with [...] People don't rush off - they'll hang around after their talks to explain things."

The Mind Body Spirit event takes place on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th September 2024, from 10am-6pm each day.

Advance ticket prices for adults are £5 per day, or £9 for the full weekend (Saturday and Sunday).

Accompanied children under 16 years can enter free of charge.

Tickets on the day incur an increase of £1. Cash and card payments can be taken on the door.
