New Year's Eve is almost here and many of us will be eagerly awaiting a night of partying and celebration.

One thing you may not be looking forward to however, is the potential hangover when you wake up on the first of January.

Thankfully, beer aficionado Greg Start, who owns R&G's Beer Vault with his wife Rosie, is on hand to share his expert advice.

He said: "When it comes to hangover cures, nothing is better than the hair of the dog that bit you, so for the New Year, we'll be back open on January 2 for anyone who wishes to start their year as they finished the last one.

"A good feed can definitely help, so breakfast, brunch or lunch from one of Macclesfield's fine cafes such as Plums Kitchen, Monocle Cafe or Olive Deli will help bring you feel more like yourself as well as a warming beverage from Yas Bean, Cornershop or Flour Water Salt.

"Hydration is the real key - drink plenty of water whilst you're out celebrating over the festive period, the tomorrow version of you will thank you for doing this!
