Beer festival to raise vital funds for charity supporting teacher diagnosed with incurable disease

There is just over a month to go until the return of Macclesfield Beer Festival.
This year's event will help to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
It is a charity close to the hearts of the festival committee.
James Hogben, chair of the festival, said: "Our long-serving volunteer committee members, Jill and Dave Hasler, have dedicated so much to our community over the past 29 years.
"Their son Rob, a Macclesfield resident and teacher, is facing this challenging illness, so the wider committee put forward the MND Association as our main charity beneficiary, a decision that Jill, Dave and Rob were delighted to endorse.
"Together, we can raise funds to support families in the local area impacted by motor neurone disease."

James added: "We'd like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our main sponsors, SAS Daniels Solicitors, Bennett Brooks Accountants and Spiral Print, as well as gin & wine bar sponsor, Suburban Green.
"We couldn't run this annual charity event without our amazing sponsors, phenomenal volunteers and everyone that comes and supports the event each year.
"We really can't wait to welcome you to Macc Beer Fest 2025."
Macclesfield Charity Beer Festival is run entirely by volunteers and is one of the longest-running charity events in the region, having raised over £300,000 over the past 29 years.
It will once be held at Macclesfield Rugby Club and takes place over two evenings, on Friday May 9 and Saturday 10, with a family-friendly daytime event on the Saturday.
Over 120 beers will be on offer, as well as 60 ciders and perries, a variety of craft lager, wine prosecco, gin and non-alcoholic options.

Money raised will help the local branch of the MND Association provide home adaptation equipment and other essential items to help Cheshire residents impacted by MND.
MND can affect how you walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe and there is no known cure.
Alistair Laing, on behalf of the MND Association, said: "We are so grateful to the team at Macc Beer Fest for choosing the MND Association as its charity of the year, helping to raise vital funds and awareness of this cruel disease.
"Every penny you help to raise during the course of this fabulous weekend will make a huge difference to people who are living with MND and their families.
"Through our range of support grants, we can offer help in a very practical way, helping to fund access to equipment, days out and contributions to support carers and young carers.
"Our Cost-of-Living Fund is also there to support anyone living with MND who is facing financial hardship as a result of the ongoing cost of living crisis.
"To people living with MND and their families, your support really does mean the world, thank you."
Tickets for the Beer Festival evenings can be purchased at Maccbeerfest.co.uk.
They cost £12.50 in advance and include a commemorative glass, while entry to the Saturday daytime event is free.
