As well as Macclesfield Town Council and Cheshire East Council, smaller settlements in the Macclesfield area will also see local elections this may.

With small parishes like Sutton to Gawsworth being up for full council election, while also having seats representing them at Cheshire East Council, it can all get quite a bit confusing.

So we have separated the candidate announcements in three separate articles. And today, we profile the town and parish council elections and who is running for them in the wider Macclesfield area.

The local elections take place on May 4 2023. You will need photo ID to vote in the borough and parish elections.

Here are the runners and riders for the towns and villages surrounding Macclesfield. Please note: Many of these are uncontested.

Please note: We have only covered places which are covered by Macclesfield Nub News. Political parties are disclosed in brackets, if available.
