A Macclesfield resident has opened a tea shop in Macclesfield town centre.

Anna Pham has opened UTEA Macclesfield on Chestergate's east side.

The shop serves tea as it is enjoyed by potentially billions in Asia, whether that is as bubble tea or fruit tea.

The drinks are cool, refreshing, and colourful.

Their menu has over 41 different milk and fruit teas, plus options for toppings, and there's plenty of options for vegans too. (Image - Macclesfield Nub News)

Macclesfield Nub News met with Anna to find more about her new business.

"Bubble tea is a popular way to keep cool in hot weather and contains fresh fruit", said Anna.

"It is popular in the cities, but not so much in the countryside.

"I moved to Macclesfield a few years ago, my children go to Park Royal School.

"Macclesfield is really nice the people are very friendly and kind. So that is why I decided to open, because I think people might be interested in what we do."

You can customise the ice or sugar level to your liking.

Some teas contain caffeine in, but other options like Taro, made from ground taro root and jasmine (the pinky purple drink pictured above) does not.

UTEA Macclesfield have a loyalty card system, and the business takes cash and card. Anna also sells Chiffon Cake that can be enjoyed with her drinks.

While Britain is more traditionally hot drink nation, as the UK recorded their hottest ever year last year, and temperatures could continue to rise, the popularity of cold teas popularity could increase in Blighty.

Indeed, Macclesfield is in the midst of a micro-bubble tea revolution.

2023 has seen newly-opened Macclesfield bubble tea sellers such as 2C9 and Pearl T Macc. Now, UTEA joins that list.

"I would encourage people to try something new", added Anna.

"The best-sellers so far have been the fruit teas. Like mango, passion fruit and blueberry.

"The avocado teas are unique, but me personally I love peach and passion fruit.

"We will be coming to delivery apps soon.

"Some people say cold drinks in the winter months is a gamble, but I love bringing Asian-style culture to European countries. And definitely the people are interested."

The business is open seven days a week from 11am to 8pm. (Image - Macclesfield Nub News)
