Bollington's newest café is up and running.

The Little Coffee Shop opened its doors on High Street for the first time earlier this month.

Behind the counter you will find local resident Beth Lomas and her partner, Tim Sheridan.

"We've been open nearly two weeks, and we're so happy with how it's gone," said Beth.

"Everyone's been super supportive and lovely. It already feels such a happy place which is what I really wanted to achieve.

"It's been a bit of a dream to do my own thing and open a coffee shop, especially in my own hometown.

"My two top aims are to serve a really great and beautifully served cup of coffee and cake, and to make absolutely everyone really welcome."

Beth was born and raised in Kerridge, just a short distance from where the café is located.

After a few years away for study and work, Beth moved back to Bollington in 2018.

She spent the next seven years working front of house at Flour Water Salt in Macclesfield.

Beth said: "While I was there I worked with some really amazing bakers, pastry chefs and baristas, many of whom have gone on to own their own super successful businesses; many of them in this area.

"I think we were all really lucky, I think we all learnt a lot from our time there, and it's been really nice to see everyone go in to do their own thing and really tap into the appetite for food businesses that also create a sense of community."

The Little Coffee Shop welcomed its first customers on Easter Sunday, April 5.

It takes over the unit previously home to The Men's Den barbershop, overlooking Market Place.

"One of the things I love about Bollington is how friendly it is," said Beth.

"We get loads of locals coming in every day, and lots of weekend visitors and walkers coming to enjoy our beautiful town.

"One of the things I'm most excited about is the location. We can look up to White Nancy above us and out onto the Green.

"When the sun's out it's got a real continental feel with everyone sitting outside. We're in a really nice little community of other shops, cafés, restaurants and bars too so there's a really nice buzz to the area."

The Little Coffee Shop offers a 'relaxed feel and a simple but delicious menu'.

You can expect a variety of hot and cold drinks as well as homemade cakes, toasties and savoury snacks.

Beth added: "We're really excited for the future! I'm looking forward to being part of the community here in Bollington."
