Wheel hubs strewn across the street, wing mirrors chopped off, and huge car frame dents.

This is the aftermath of a car accident last night in Macclesfield.

One driver lost control and left a trail of destruction on Black Road, in the ward of Macclesfield East & Hurdsfield.

Thankfully, nobody was injured, in what could've been a tragedy at any other time.

Black Road, which is just a few yards from Macclesfield's Puss Bank School, has had up to eight cars damaged according to one witness.

An unnamed adult allegedly under the influence of alcohol caused the damage, who has since been arrested.

In a statement, Cheshire Police said: "Officers were called just after 8.55pm on Sunday 23 January."

"This was following reports that a number of parked cars had been damaged following a collision on Black Road.

"On arrival officers arrested a 32-year-old man from Macclesfield on suspicion of drink driving.

"He remains in custody assisting police with their enquiries."

Police did not confirm the number of cars injured, but fingers crossed all the residents were insured.

Unconfirmed reports suggest the driver was insured.
