A retail unit in a residential area of Macclesfield has come on the property market.

The site of 205 Buxton Road is now available to let.

The building, which opened on May 31 2021 as Cakeface by James, has now come on the rental market.

The property, of 571 square feet, is up for a business owner to rent from £9,000 per annum.

Macclesfield's Hallams Property Consultants are marketing the property. They said: "This neat unit has been successfully running as a cake shop and cafe over the past few years."

"The space is flexible comprising a shop front, back room/kitchen area and a useful storage/office space on the first floor.

"The property boasts a high footfall as it is close to a large residential area as well as the canal which is densely populated by walkers and cyclists.

"The fixtures and fittings/equipment is available for purchase via separate negotiation."

Benefits of this opportunity include zero business rates, and being located next to fellow independent businesses like Tommy's, Early Bird Bakery, and Yas Bean.

Unfortunately, this means that Cakeface by James are closing.

Cakeface by James were approached by Macclesfield Nub News for comment. And after this, posted this statement to Facebook: "I'm sad to let you all know that I've made the difficult decision to close Cakeface down from the end of this month."

"I did have a post planned for tomorrow but a very local newspaper has already been in contact trying to get a comment on the situation so I would like you all to hear the news from me before anyone makes an article about the shop.

"I hope you all understand my decision. Let's make December the best month ever!"
