Macclesfield's new KFC has been giving our free chicken as they opened their doors for the first time.

The Colonel Sanderes-clad company first served customers on Friday December 9.

Those who use the app for the first time can get a free bucket when you order delivery, at the new Barracks Mill Store, which has created 40 jobs.

The restaurant also encourages fried chicken fans to eat-in, with over 60 seats and toilets indoors.

30 eager diners attended the chilly morning opening, and outnumbered the staff that were there to work the first shift.

The new site was opened by KFC Regional Area Coach Peter Moss and his mother, who are both from Macclesfield, and the latter of which now lives in Sutton.

It is the second time KFC has opened in Macclesfield, following a brief stint in the late 20th century.

Being situated on the new Barracks Mill Retail Park, the new fast food outlet will provide stiff competition to Macclesfield's McDonalds, which is just a 1 minute drive away up The Silk Road.

You can also order from the new KFC on Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats.

They are open from 11am to 10am every day.

KFC Area Coach Simon Thompson said: "We're really excited to be opening our new Macclesfield restaurant, answering the call to locals who have wanted a KFC to become part of their community.

"Not only are we providing everyone's favourite fried chicken, but we're also giving back to the community by delivering new jobs to the area, whilst supporting the KFC Foundation and food donation schemes."

Kerridge resident Sarah Wheeler will manage the new store.

They are still hiring for more Team Members on this link.

They are also after an Assistant Manager - for which you can also find detailed on this link.

All eyes are now on the final three stores to open at the new Barracks Mill Retail Park.

The trio are: B&M, bp pulse and The Gym.

Already open with KFC, are Aldi and M&S Simply Food.

As well as the aforementioned methods, you can also order KFC direct through their website.
