Students across Cheshire East are celebrating the release of their A-level results.

Across the borough, 23.4% of entries were awarded grades A to A*, while 49.9* achieved grades A to B*.

Pupils can now look forward to the next exciting chapter in their lives, whether that be university, degree apprenticeships, further training or entering the world of work.

Councillor Emma Gilman, cabinet member for education and SEND at Cheshire East Council, said: "It is wonderful to see our students achieving such fantastic A-level results once again and I would like to congratulate every young person receiving their results today.

"These achievements reflect not only the hard work, determination and resilience of our students, but also the encouragement and support of parents, carers, teachers and education professionals who have helped them every step of the way."

"I also want to recognise those students who may not have received the results they were hoping for today.

"While it can be disappointing when things do not go as planned, it is important to remember that exam results do not define you, your potential or your future.

"There are still many pathways and opportunities available, and support is on hand to help you take the next step.

"I wish all our students every success for the future and hope they take time to enjoy this well-deserved achievement.

"Whatever your results today, this is just one stage in your journey, and there are many exciting opportunities ahead."
