A construction company has helped bring festive cheer to Macclesfield Hospital.

City Build have donated a Christmas tree to Macclesfield District General Hospital for the second year running.

Located outside the main entrance, the tree was lit at a ceremony last week attended by East Cheshire NHS Trust's chief executive Ged Murphy, chair Aislinn O'Dwyer, deputy director of estates and facilities Rob Few, and Toby Rexstraw, director at City Build.

Mr Murphy said: "Everyone at East Cheshire NHS Trust would like to thank City Build for all their continued hard work and the extremely generous donation of the Christmas tree."

City Build have worked on numerous projects at the East Cheshire NHS Trust over recent years, including the elective treatment centre and the refurbishment of the accident and emergency department.

Andrew Field, business manager at City Build, added: "We're very pleased to support Macclesfield Hospital again this year.

"City Build has been delivering projects at the hospital for several years, and during that time we've built strong relationships with both the estates and capital teams, and the wider trust.

"Donating the Christmas tree is a small way for us to give something back and to show our appreciation for the fantastic work done by everyone at East Cheshire NHS Trust, especially at this time of year.

"As a business, we always aim to deliver meaningful social value in the communities where we work, and we feel that contributing to trust's Christmas celebrations is a positive way to support staff, patients, and visitors."
