The world's most popular current band from Macclesfield have confirmed details of a new album.

Cassia's sophomore effort Why You Lacking Energy? will release on July 15.

All of the tropical pop band are from Macclesfield. Vocalist and guitarist Rob Ellis is from Prestbury, bassist Lou Coterill is from the Moss Estate, and drummer Jake Leff is from Tytherington.

The trio announced their second album with a new single called Motions.

Cassia's latest song about the passing of time, is another groovy tune from the Berlin-based band of Macc lads.

Motions showcases the band's trademark luscious instrumentation and addictive harmonies.

Sounding like a track that would fit right at home in the FIFA. videogames, Motions is a piece which has brought solace both to the band and their listeners.

"We wanted motions to feel like sand slipping through your fingers," said band member Jake.

"A kind of unrelenting passing of time that you can't stop regardless of how tightly you clench your fists.

"It is based on one spiralling thought that I have every so often: my time is slipping away and I'm not spending it how I should.

"Motions is like the wave of relief the moment I realised that I am not alone in this pseudo life crisis".

The three-and-a-half minute number will be the fourth track on Cassia's upcoming album. Their November 2021 single Similar, will also appear on the new LP.

Motionscomes with a music video set in the year 2081. You can watch it and listen to the track at the top of this article.

Motions unravels the beginning of the visual world in which the album exists. The album, also set sixty years in the future, reveals people being drained of energy from information overload, with all hopes pinned on a can of energy drink - a metaphor for the album and the feelings it intends to evoke.

The canned item is also used as the cover for the Motions single.

There are high hopes that Why You Lacking Energy? will do well in the album charts.
