The site of a former historic Macclesfield pub has come up for sale.
What was once the old Bull & Gate pub has come on the property market.
Now used as offices by Direct Food Ingredients, the building, of 70 Waters Green, is up for sale for offers in the region of £350,000.
The listing, which went live this Monday, is being marketed as an office.
You can view an image of the pub in the 1940s, to the left of the above panel.
The current occupier, Direct Food Ingredients, was founded in Deansgate. They were then based at Macclesfield's Waters Green House, before their move to The Bull and Gate, confirmed in 2010.
Direct Food Ingredients is one of the UK's largest distributors of functional ingredients, additives, and chemicals. It was established in 1994 by Steve Loake, a few years before the Bull and Gate pub shut down.
The listing, penned by Macclesfield's Hallams Property Consultants reads "This unique freehold property, formerly The Bull and Gate, is a distinctive character building offering versatile commercial space.
"Currently owner-occupied and functioning as office space, the property boasts a charming period façade combined with flexible interior layouts suitable for a range of business uses.
"With ample room to accommodate modern office requirements, the building's interior maintains a balance between professional functionality and period charm. Whether you're seeking an attractive headquarters or an investment opportunity, 70 Waters Green presents an exceptional option in the heart of Macclesfield's vibrant commercial district.
"The property is located in Macclesfield town centre and benefits from a central location as well as being a short distance from the A523, the main thoroughfare in and out of Macclesfield. The A523 connects Macclesfield to nearby towns including Congleton & Stockport. Junction 18 of the M6 Motorway is also within a 30 minute drive of the property. 70 Waters Green is a 1-minute walk from the train station and benefits from a vast amount of local amenities."
The gold writing signage for the old pub can still be read on the building today.
The site was also known as Bar 108.
The functional ingredients and commodities distributor was contacted for comment.
A Direct Food Ingredients spokesperson said: "Direct Food Ingredients, founded in 1994, has built a strong reputation distributing a range of materials across the globe. From sports nutrition, food production, soft drinks and beverages, to animal feed, and health and well-being.
"The company will make Ropewalks, Newton Street, its new home in the New Year. Currently based at The Bull and Gate, the company employs 25 people and has an annual turnover of more than £20m.
"The new, larger offices will accommodate its expanding team following the appointment of four account managers to the commercial team this year, as demand for its services grows."
James Bradley, Commercial Director at Direct Food Ingredients, added: "30 years in business is an incredible achievement. We are fortunate to have a great team, many of whom have been with us for over a decade, who are dedicated to delivering excellence for customers.
"We're thrilled to be moving to new premises at Ropewalks here in Macclesfield, and we're excited to take this next step in our expansion."
Cath Hough, Managing Director at Direct Food Ingredients, said: ''The Bull & Gate has been our home for over 15 years and has served us well, we are proud of our achievements over the last 30 years. We plan to invest heavily in people technology, resource and infrastructure and we look forward to continuing our succuss for years to come."
