Throughout the year, 5G mast planning applications have cropped up throughout Macclesfield.

And now it is the turn of London Road, as proposals have been shared online.

The application regards "The installation of 1No. 15m 'Phase 5' monopole, 3No. antennas, 2No. 0.3m dishes and 3No. ground-based equipment cabinets and ancillary development thereto."

With the new homes at Lyme Green, Macclesfield Football Club and the Moss estate all nearby, the new pole will serve a large catchment area.

From the Ordinance Survey map linked on the Cheshire East Council website, it looks like the telecommunications pole will be at the site of the London Road Co-op.

Residents have until October 25 to have their say, with a decision targeted for November 20.
